Second Context (Labirynt Gallery)

Labirynt Gallery, Lublin, February 1977

A
We create notions on the basis of empirical reality. We create empirical reality on the basis of notions which we have. There exist a feedback between creating notions and creating reality.

B
Neutral language does not exist, nor does a language of art. What has been said in English language in the context of American reality means something else than something which is said in the Polish language in the context of Polish reality.

C
Art is not activity in the universal area of art. It changes when its historical and geographical context is changed: its meaning is changed and its influence is changed.

D
Art is neither an art/act nor an objective register; it is neither a theory generalizing laws which govern art nor theory-practice.
Art is a social practice, for the usage of definite, pragmatic context.
